Shapton #1000 Editorial Review
The Shapton 60212 RockStar Standard Model 1000 11 Micro Class/TYPE WA Medium Sharpener has garnered positive feedback from a range of users, particularly for its performance with both Japanese and German knives. Users appreciate the sharpness and finishing capabilities of this whetstone, noting that it can elevate the edge of German kitchen knives to a level comparable to that of high-quality Japanese knives. While comparison to previous models like the Kuromaku series shows that the RockStar is softer in feel, many customers have found this to provide better feedback during sharpening. Users also highlight the excellent durability and longevity of the stone, citing its ability to maintain a flat surface with minimal wear during use. Despite some personal preferences regarding the thickness of the stone and the abrasiveness level of other available options, there’s a Consensus that the RockStar series offers a notable balance of performance and value. With high versatility across various knife types, it has secured its place as a favored choice among sharpening enthusiasts. **
