The Olympus DM-720 Digital Voice Recorder is a high-quality, compact device with excellent sound quality, adjustable equalization profiles, and an easy-to-navigate menu. It also doubles as an MP3 player, with a Music folder that allows for the uploading of MP3 or WAV files. The device has jacks for stereo headphones and microphones, with a powerful speaker located on the back top of the device. Battery life appears to be satisfactory, and the rechargeable battery is included with the recorder. While the device does not have data transcription capabilities, it does feature a transcription mode for ease of starting and stopping playback. It can be used as a voice-activated recorder, with recordings stored on an internal memory of 4GB or an external 2-32 GB memory card. Although the recorder is simple to use, purchasers may benefit from reading the instruction manual or watching online tutorials.
