The trays are not dishwasher safe, but they're easy to clean manually. You can purchase extra trays for this machine. However, they're not included in the package. It's easy to use for drying herbs and suitable for making chicken jerky for pets. It is only suitable for dehydration and cannot freeze dry candy or homemade pasta noodles. The dehydrator may not hold a lot of items for a day, but with the proper upgrade, it's worked well for some.
